Firing problems with AK.
 

I was shooting targets with my TM AK 47 today, when all of the sudden the ROF dropped dramatically. I assumed that the battery just needed to be recharged, but upon doing so, realized that there was a problem. Upon further examination I realized that after a few shots in semi, it wouldn't fire at all, but I could still feel the trigger clicking. I switched it to full auto and it was slow but consistant. Switching back to semi I was able to fire another couple shots as described. Now, my gun is very new, and I've only fired about 2000 BBs. I haven't oiled it yet, but the problem came very suddenly. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Could be the motor. If possible, hook up another motor and see if the gun will work properly.

If the motor slows, it's usually because of a drop in inpit voltage. This could come from a battery with insufficient current reserves to meet the needs of the motor. If you tell us what kind of battery, charger and if you've done any upgrades to the gun, it would be easier to point you in the right direction.

If you haven't abused the gun by doing the following things:

-extreme long auto bursts
-powered the stock gun with batteries larger than medium sized 9.6V

... then you problem is most likely this:

The copper leaf foils that make up the tigger switch has corroded. This explains the drop in rof. This problem occurs when you excessively tap on the trigger causing an incomplete electrical circuit. When you pull the trigger, you should pull it all the way and fast.

To fix the problem, you'll need to disassemble your gun down to the trigger mech and re-solder the copper leaf foils.
