MP5 SD6
 

I am about to purchace my first airsoft gun, and am wondering what the Pr's and Con's of the SD6 are?

The only issue I have with it is it needs a mini battery, and I'd prefer to use a normal sized one.

Your comments/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The silencer on a Marui actually works a little bit, whereas it is just a metal tube inserted into the silencer for an ICS. ICS has a full metal body and can be bought for only slightly more than a Marui. This goes for Classic Army as well, but they are a little bit harder to find in Canada.

I personally prefer the sliding stock to a full stock, but that's my taste and I don't see a real problem with using a mini battery for a stock MP5 (no upgrades). I can get 2500 rounds out of my Marui MP5k PDW with effectively a mini battery (different configuration, but same cells), which is fine for a full day of play.

good to know. What kind of battery are you using? The reason I'm picking ths up is because I have a classmate who's selling it REALLY cheep. (Used once, great condish)

If you're planning to go serious into Airsoft make sure you get an AEG of a name brand preferably TM for starters. If your classmate is selling it for under $200CAD it must either be in really rough shape or that crappy Entry-Level SD6 you can purchase off of http://www.canadianairsoft.ca just checkout the entry level guns and look for the SD6 ...if it's that and you want to play Airsoft and not just plink around. Don't buy it

Errrrr, it's a Mini, one of the main standard sizes of batteries. Check retailers sites.
If you want more battery power, get the version of that gun with the full sized stock. For the rest, a minimum of research on your part will answer all your questions.

Oh than if you trust your friend and the AEGs quality .. I say go for it..But i'm sure there is a reason why for him to sell it?

He needs to pay for tuition next year, so I lucked out

The MP5k uses mini cells in a stick format, just like the AK47 with the folding stock, the other MP5 normally use the mini-cells in a rectangle format, or a Large battery.
Any retailer should be able to get that for you.

However, Graham, you should still do some research. That would help you choose or know about various options for more electrical power when the time comes.

Otherwise, if the gun is still as it came, you should not have any issue asking a Retailer to get you some. Just say it's for a Marui SD6.

If you want to use 'large' type batteries, you'll have to consider the full stock model or an external battery bag. Dont scrimp when you buy the battery charger.

Well, i got it today. It is indeed the fetractable stock. Overall, it looks very clean and bran dnew. in the box with it was a little plastic piece, looks un-broken, that is obviously ment to swivel (has two points on either side). Where do yo suppose it cam from?

also, how do you open the fore-grip to get at the battety? and in the grip, theres a small allen-key wit hthe words "Type EG700" what does this mean?

I beleive thats the motor type?

and I can't find where that little plastic poice belongs*shrugs*
