ummmm it looks like a fork, a butter knife, and a spoon.

It looks like a standard issue KFS.

What make is your mess tin? I would say early-1940's since it's really, really nice.

Krieg February 17th, 2006 17:05

Its not ww2. My mess tin is powtwar BTW.

On the set it says Rostfrei, Foreign.

german, english mixed.
Is it just a camping utensil? I don't know.
But it looks good with mess tin :D

...

Yea, its the same kinda thing you can buy from any camping store, just a Knife, Fork an Spoon that can be attached to each other.

Looks like the knife also has a can opener on it, so it is diffently an older item.

The CF has KFS pouches for their 82 pattern webbing, so it's not just a camping utensil. Not sure what issue KFS sets look like, but having that on you is worth it. Just avoid having Stagg chili while playing if you have to drive home with other people, gets pretty nasty in the vehicle. ;)

It is basicially a camping utinsel.

I've never used mine, no point. Plus IMPs/MREs come with their own plastic spoons.

Never used mine either.

I've used mine on the longer trips when I strip my IMP's down. Get rid of the damn plastic spoons and keep my KFS in pocket.

Damn handy thing to have if nothing else. The German military had a fork and spoon combo, smaller an' without the knife though, so it isn't like your far off if you want to use it, lol.

What I say, it's free, and I love the freebies :D

Oberst39 February 17th, 2006 22:46

What you have is a KFS combo from the mid to late 70's that could be bought at any Canadian Tire or camping store. I had one exactly like that when I was a kid. I am dating myself here!.

Usually when you strip down your IMP's you just break the spoon in half and throw it in the pouch. Thats what I was tought on my BMQ. Also the only thing I used my KFS for is to get a itch out of my crack with the fork while NBC training in the bunny suit.
