USP Compact mag issues
I recently bought a USP compact from a friend, but the problem is that everytime i full up a mag(using propane) as soon as i remove the fill nozzle, i can hear and smell propane leaking out of the mag, ive tried changing the full nozzle inside the mag, but it still leaks. i took it to ken at 007 airsoft, and he tested it out using some Green gas, and it worked for 30+ shots, yet when i use propane, it won't get through more then 3-6 shots. and i am filling it correctly. can any one help me out with this?

Well for starters, green gas is propane, so it was probably just a fluke that it worked when he filled the gun, or the room temperature was maybe different, which could have affected the pressure.
It could be something to do with the valves on the mag, they could be damaged, or maybe something is just lose. I would take it back to ken and have him double check it. Removing the valves yourself to check them is a bit of a pain unless you have the tool to do it. |
well actually thinking back, i think it was that HFC 134c stuff, or something along the lines of that.

HFC 134 is what the USP Compact is designed to run in stock configuration. it is a much lower pressure gas than propane.
If your gun is leaking on HFC 134, then you definitely need to have a look at the valves on your mags. |
it wasn't leaking with the HFC 134 stuff, jsut my propane, ive tried soaking the filler valve things in silicon oil, no change as of yet.

It wont leak on 134a because its of lower pressure. Propane is higher pressure so any small leaks will become more evident. Your going to have to take apart the mag then lube up all the o rings. Maybe the guy you bought the gun from left the mag empty for a while, drying out the o rings.

I was told not to take apart the mag because its so complicated inside, i guess ill have to take it back to ken, or do any of you guys happen to know a place where i can get a walk throught of taking the mag apart and puttnik it back together agian?
