Can someone explains "heavy weight? to me?

Ok I notice that some guns are ABS while others are Heavy Weight.

I've handled a normal glock and it feels quite plasticy, while a heavy weight glock 19 feels kinda cold to the touch as though it were metal but the surface is kinda rubbery almost.

Scientifically if anyone knows, what is the composition of a heavyweight pistol? Is it a sort of special polymer or that kind of thing? And would you say that in most cases a heavy weight frame is superior to normal ABS plastic?

Thanks you.

Typically, it refers to construction with a very dense, or more dense then standard, polymer.

In most case they just add some steel to the mixture. But it's still ABS, altought usually feel very solid just like metal ones.
