How to remove the flash hider from a G&P M4?

I just got my G&P CQBR . I would like to change the flash hider and add a flip-up front sight, but i cannot remove the flash hider. It is super tight, and almost impossible to turn.(14mm+ thread)

Can anyone with experience of G&P AEG help me out?

1)Remove grub screw .
2)Vise Grips .

Works all the time.

Hey just wondering, what battery did you get for your CQB-R?

Thank you for the tip,but there is no screw to remove on flash hider.Just a silver ring to lock the flash hider in place.G&P AEG is different.
It is really hard to remove.I 've tried to heat it up,but i still cannot remove it.

You can safely use 9.6v 1700mAH(nicd) because it shoots 400FPS out of the box.The rof will be very controllable.

If you need crazy rof,use 10.8v 1700mAh(nicd).Use at your own risk!

*note:redwolfairsoft marked both of them 2200mAh.They marked them wrong. They are actually 1700mAh.

Have you tried turning it the other direction? How do you know it's +14mm?

use a hacksaw  seriously though maby they put locktight, you said you tried heat but if its red locktight you may need to get the barrell extreemly hot to melt the shit.

Pliskin June 22nd, 2006 21:38

Well, dumb suggestion, but are you sure it comes off?

F!reStorm* June 22nd, 2006 22:33

I have the same problem with my G&G GR16 R5. No screws, just a silver ring and the damn flash hider. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Affliction June 22nd, 2006 22:34

It does come off. I have a G&P M4, its fucking tight.

I took out my M4 just to test it for you--The correct way to turn it is (provided you are right handed):

Left hand - Gun
Right hand - Flash hider
Turn your right hand towards yourself (or you could say left I guess)

Best suggestion: Eat your wheaties and try again.

Doesn't work, anything else? Anyone actually experienced this?

You might have to turn yours the other way...

G&P threads the barrels in the opposite direction as TM variants.

The problem with the G&P is that the flash hinder is GLUED... So it's pretty hard to get off.

You have to turn down hard, use a vise grips, don't be affraid to force it. I ended up scratching the flash hinder a bit doing it, but oh well, nothing major.

I dunno why they used glue instead of the usual grub screw.
