Piston head wont screw off

My Sig 552 v3 gearbox's stock piston head wont screw off of the the piston. I am turning it counter clockwise just as the instructions i printed off of 858airsoft.com . It feels as it the threads are skipping (i briefly tried to turn ir clockwise after turning counter clockwise alot and it still felt as if it was skipping) im trying to install an upgraded sping. Is there anything im doing wrong or that i can do to get he piston head off and back on or do i have to order a new piston/piston head

Thnx

There are two ways to take it off, and it depends on what the screw wants to do.

1/ wrap a paper towel or rag around the piston, hold the piston and grab the head with the other hand, and unscrew while pulling it forward (a little nub on the "block" fits into the hole in the front of the piston, holds it in place while you unscrew it. I've found 80-90% of stock TM pistons will come apart this way.

2/ Head separates or something else, in which case you have to take a sharp knife and carefully cut a crater on the face of the piston head (dead center) to expose the Phillips head screw underneath. Then just use a screwdriver and take it out that way.

Have fun!

virtually no effect as long as it is a clean cut with no shavings of plastic left which could come loose later.
