It seems colt is looking into creating a Light Machine Gun out of the M16A2. I read the article in SOF magazine. Looks like a C-mag, bipod and heavier barrel (designed for quick removal) make up this weapon. It's still in the concept/research phase, and there isn't any news on it being put into production. So for all you support gunners out there with M16's and C-mags, it looks like you're weapons are about to become used in "the world".

yeah, colt has already made this, like 30 fucking years ago. used in the world for longer than most of us have been alive.

Like I said, it's new and it uses the Beta C-mag. It's piston powered and can use just about any sighting system.
