ICS Yaw Control Install...

Alrighty, so I've taken apart my ICS M4 split mechbox and replaced the yaw control bar, I got everything in line, closed the box and dropped it into my gun. Hooked the battery up, flipped it to semi and pulled the trigger... and everything worked, well the first shot did. It fires in full auto 100% still but when I switch from semi to full or vise versa the yaw control locks and hence locks the trigger(yaw control catches on the trigger mechanism and safety locks). I tested it a few times with the upper part off and noticed that the yaw control has a small amount of play side to side. I have an extra control bar kicking around so if I need to mod or something like that I can very easily. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Beach_boy

(Random off shoot question: Oh and what's the compatibility with systema boxes and ICS?)

systema boxes dont work with ICS M4's i've tried, make sure everything is in place properly when you put the lower back together....its a pain in the ass

ICS guns need to use ICS parts. Period!

A few guys have been lucky doing bushing/gear changes, but most have not. Tappets, selector plates, yaw bars, gears, bushings, switches, and mechbox shells are NOT interchangeable with other brands.

Thanks Mcguyver, the yaw bar is a ICS, both the ones I ordered are, still seems to be quite a bit of play between the bar and the body, I've tried both bars and both seem to have the same problem.

Put a shim underneath the screw when you install the bar. That will prevent the "flopping" around of the yaw bar.

Will a normal shim fit over the nob that the bar fits onto or do I need to do some mod'ing?

beach_boy December 18th, 2006 14:45

So I tried the shims thing and since I'm lacking the proper tools here at school to make the shim fit, I bent the bar a little so it would fit flat and epoxyed the inside of the bar so the screw would lie flat. Seems to be working okay, hopefully it'll hold up for so I can at least play... or until I have the proper tools to mod a shim...

Thanks for all the help
