It started off as a CA M15A4 carbine,
http://www.uragan-sport.ru/strike/pi...d/00002454.jpg then added the following parts, Classic army SIR hand guard (UNC) Classic Army flip up front sight (UNC) Classic Army flip up rear sight (UNC) Classic Army M15 special forces crane stock (jugglez) G&P 2005 Knights Type Flashider (UNC) 6.03mm tight bore barrel (War Craft Games) Guarder aluminum barrel (ASCA) Guarder aluminum piston (bug) Guarder aluminum piston head (bug) Prometheus MS120 non-linear spring (204 Tactical) ACTION Micro Visible Green Laser (WGC) King Arms Red / Green Dot Sight with Quick Release Ring Mount (WGC) Deans battery connectors (onlybatterypacks.com) 9.6v 4200MaH NIMH crane stock battery (onlybatterypacks.com) I finally ended up with this, http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/100_1496.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/100_1498.jpg Now according to Bug, when him and swatt13 put the mechbox together with the MS120 spring, they're pretty sure that its now shooting about 440fps. |
Very sexy, good job!

very nice for sure

Very nice... one day I'll go for the same setup since I love the way the SIR looks.
How much did the "9.6v 4200MaH NIMH crane stock battery" cost you with shipping and taxes? |
How did you re-route the wiring to the crane stock? I'm thinking of the same with my CA M15A4 Carbine. (I'm using a AN/PEQ2 battery box on my MRE at the moment)

Well originally we re-wired it to the back because I had a full stock on it, but I liked the colapseable stock better so I got the crane stock. The wires for the crane stock goes threw the middle of the buffer tube then connects to the battery in the stock. As for Raygis's question, in canadain the total was $77, the battery it's self was $52US. http://www.onlybatterypacks.com/show...temID=11405.26

No, the CA V2 gearbox has a slot in the back for the wires to go threw so you can either put on a full stock or a crane stock, but it does require you to open the mechbox to re-run the wires back. The crane stock comes with a special stock spacer that allows you to pop the wires up and into the buffer tube. Although, we did have to do alittle grinding to make sure that there was enough room without the possiblity of it being such a tight fit that it strips the wire insulation off and short out the battery.

i found the star crane stock is a little better setup as it opens up from the rear and allows you to slide the battery in from there, where as the ca stock opens from the front, so you must remove the stock completlty to charge the battery and i found it is a hassel to get in out of the tube (the battery) the buffer tube is pretty narrow.
however if you get those battries specifically designed for the stock held in the triangle shape via the hard mould would solve the problem. but i too love the s-system cqb look. very unique and beefy looking. almost looks better than mine dan.... ALMOST... lol http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...9-10-06005.jpg |
