proper cleaing of camo
 

well after i finally after 2 years of playing got off my ass and got my own camo (flecktarn =3)

so heres my question after search the forum for a good hour (and yes i did hit search after seeing graylocks pointing it out a billions times) what is the proper way to clean camo mines already being washed so its faded a bit but i want it to keep from fading more and not shrink.

It all depends what kind of material. But the general tip for new kit is;
Before you wear it, wash it in warm water, with a mix of detergent and vinegar.
-The detergent cleans out anything that got on the kit before you got it.
-The vinegar helps to set the dyes in the material (slows down fading, colors won't bleed).
-Aside from being gentle and not shrinking your kit, the warm water aids in the mixture of the vinegar.

I did this when I first got my most recent CADPAT shirt..just about a year ago. It still looks good next to mint CADPAT after all the washes and use I've put it through.

I wash mine with the 'dark' colored other clothes I have. Same non-bleach detergent, same washer setting (warm/cold).

Go into a hunting store and get the detergent made for washing hunting clothes. Prevents fading in the colors.

WASH camo.......what do you mean, the stinks helps hold the colors in. lol.

It also gives you away.

Yeah they can hear you screaming as the male grizzly is trying to hump your stinky ass because you smell like one of the beasts too:)

I have always washed my uniforms with standard laundry detergents with no to little effect except for my knock off uniforms, issue has been ok but knock offs faded way too quick..
