Non blow back gas pistols - Question.

When you fire a Non blow back gas pistol, do you have to cock the slide for a new BB or does a new BB enter the the chamber itself...

ancorp July 8th, 2007 17:31

Nope, should just fire. Racking the slide or just cocking the hammer should give a nicer single action pull though.

No to what.. there are 2 questions there...No to the auto new BB, or NO to the gotta cock the slide.

Nik12 July 8th, 2007 18:26

you shouldn't have to cock the slide. That is a feature worthy of a springer.

No, you asked ONE question, an "or" question.

The gun will fire double action. You don't have to chamber or rechamber anything. Just insert mag and fire as I see it.

O.K Great, I was looking at a TM MK23 and noticed that is does not blow back and I did not like the Idea of Cocking the slide after every shot. Thanks guys.

NBB pistols tend to work as, pull the trigger, the barrel assembly gets pulled back, strips a BB from the mag and loads it, then triggers the gas release. This happens each trigger pull in order. Releasing the trigger resets everything.

Take a look at the KSC Mk23 as well, it's GBB, has a decocking lever, and you can shoot it quieter by having the supressor on, decocking the hammer and pulling the trigger double action. Not sure why but it works, report is more muffled than if shooting single action with the supressor on.

the KSC one at 007 costs A LOT more and it is only the pistol. The TM may only be plastic, But I want the full set look for a cheaper prise then the KSC set would cost : /

Nik12 July 8th, 2007 21:46

Yeah, I've been tempted by that Mk23 socom package myself. Didnt bother to get it though (it had a reasonably good review on Arnies, I believe it was Arnies anyways). My interest has since swung to a WA Infinity...why must my tastes be so expensive....

Ya, cost is an issue, but what yo uwant out of it has to come into effect as well. If I found a TM NBB before I picked up the KSC Mk23, I'd have gotten it as well, but I like the GBB version too, even if sluggish. BTW, both are plastic, so..............

One thing you might consider, Ken at 007 has zero stock of airsoft guns (click the In Stock link up top), and also tends to be overpriced as well. Best bet is to get yoruself age verified and then check out all the guns, gear, etc. being sold by users on ASC, I have yet to buy any gun from a retailer, and I have a decent collection.

Cobrajr122 July 9th, 2007 19:33

I was not looking to buy yet, I just had a question :P But price is still an issue.

Besides not 18 for 1 year and 4 days :P Counting it down... day by day.... slowly going insane :/

Nik12 July 9th, 2007 19:37

Save the counting. Just...read about it. Or go out with some toy rifle (like those one's meant for 10 year olds fromwal-mart) and practice a few tactical manauvers....

I've got a MK23, And no, Pulling the hammer back strips a BB off the mag, so you DO NOT have to cock it every time you shoot,

You also do not have to pull the hammer back when you pull the trigged, it cocks the hammer, then fires.

(VERY GOOD GUN BTW)

Cobrajr122 July 9th, 2007 20:00

uhm... nik... no. I have better things to do then that >_>

And thanks amos.

Nik12 July 9th, 2007 20:23

Aw....that makes one of us..... :(
