1911 Pistol Experts, Need Your Help On Upgrades!

I bought this new KJW http://store.matrixbb.com/servlet/-s...icensed/Detail

I'm wondering, will upgrade parts that are designed to fit the Marui 1911 or Marui Hicapa 5.1 also fit this new KJW 1911?

I looked up parts on various retailers and found some parts I would like, but I'm not sure if they will fit or what else I might need to withstand the stiffer hammer/recoil springs. I have no idea what spring guides I would need or if they're even necessary.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, hi again. Are you reposting this here because you don't trust the people at Arnies or something? Oh wait, I'm at Arnies.

Honestly, for the last time, you don't need a stiffer hammer spring. Do you even know what it does?

Well, if he wants more gas-output , that's what will do it. Aside from a HFV.

I've been working on 1911s for quite some time (WA) , ask stokes, I know what I'm talking about ;)

So a hammer spring increase gas output which increase fps I'm assuming?

I'm posting it here again because I didn't get all the answers on Arnies.

I'm wondering if you go with a stronger set of recoil springs, do you also need to get a long edition spring guide? Or is the stock short ones + plug okay?

I'm not sure if WA experience is directly applicable to TM-clones and I don't know if it's as simple as stronger hammer spring = more fps. My understanding of TMxx11 gas system is that a stronger hammer spring is not warranted in most cases and can lead to cycling problems. The stronger the hammer spring, the stiffer the action of the hammer, the harder it is for the slide to blowback smoothly.

The stock recoil rod is fine, assuming KJW's is also metal, can't really imagine it being anything else.

Generally, stronger hammer springs are employed to get a more consistent strike of the gas valve, especially when using more powerful gases with high flow valves in warmer climates. The added pressure of the warm gas on the high output valve can cause the release button to require extra pressure to crack it open, and at times, extra force is required to not just crack it open, but to give it a full depression.

The worst thing to experience is playing all day and finally finding a moment where pulling out your pistol is required for a close kill... only to hear a *click* when you pull the trigger and experiencing no action.

The Saint is right, though. There are some setups where a stronger hammer spring will just end up in cycling issues.

generally, I dont mess with the hammer spring unless I am getting light strikes
stiffer hammer springs make it harder for the nub in the slide to pass over the hammer to recock it after each shot
