SEI M14SE "Crazy Horse" SASS - aka mk14 mod0 EBR

SEI M-14SE "Crazy Horse" SASS

The Crazy Horse Semi-Automatic Sniper System is a project that I've been working towards since Tokyo Marui announced production of the M14 rifle. The amount of time its taken me to get this far has been limited to availability of parts, cost, as well as issues of getting the EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle) kit in to the country.

Anyways, I'm not going to go on too much about the details on the real steel, the weapon was designed and created by Sage International, Ltd. in cooperation with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, to fulfill a five-year Crane contract for a modernized, product improved M14 rifle system to be integrated as an SDM (Squad Designated Marksman) weapon. You can read all about it here:

Holy crap, thats insane! I love it. Very massive, yet compact.

Now if only it was a full stroke gas blowback ;)

Care to share the cost?

Kimbo August 21st, 2007 12:43

That's the nicest EBR setup I've ever seen! Nice job man.

LyquidFyre August 21st, 2007 12:50

Wow...simply amazing setup there. How's the weight on it with all the extra parts?

MadMax August 21st, 2007 12:54

Silencer looks funny. Can't close down the QD on your flashider?

Cassius August 21st, 2007 13:44

Would that flash hider and silencer work on an armalite?

Lots of tears.

And a bit of blood.

I'll see if I can get a cost up later, I just did one for my PTW and I wasn't happy. I don't feel like going double-sadness by looking at the EBR cost too...

5.5 kg, not including battery, ammo, bipod & suppressor.

Yeah, it's what I talked to you about on MSN last night.

It's a VFC DC suppressor, but the flash hider on there is the G&P one that came with the kit. G&P is stupid in that they love to use positive threading, whereas the rest of the industry uses negative threading... as a result, I can't attach my VFC flash hider on to the EBR kit (without an ugly adapter).

And the G&P flash hider's DC (direct-connect) channel is a bit too narrow to allow the arms of the suppressor to clamp down on it. I have to widen the channel and make it about 50 thou. deeper. So in a sense, the gun's not fully complete, yet. Have to refab the flash hider, paint it, and get a bipod mount... :(

Yes, it would, although it'd look a bit funny due to its length (it's made to clear an extended gas bolt on the M14 series.) There's M4-specific versions available. The suppressor is the same. Just look up "Vortex" Flash Hiders.

Dr_Tinshnipz August 21st, 2007 14:55

When you plan on selling let me know! Another beautiful gun man.

Cassius August 21st, 2007 18:32

Thanks alot man! Been looking for a cool suppressor that would attach easily without the need to remove the flash hider. :D

Metro August 21st, 2007 18:58
