suggestion for custom gun

I am planning on making a custom gun... but I am new to airsoft and do not really know what i need to build a gun. I would rather spend the money at the start than have to buy a complete one and eventually replace everything on it. So I would like the reciever to be metal which is $260-$380 give or take. Systema complete gearbox ($310) Kings Arms G27 grip ($40) Madbull patriot kit small ($150) Star C-mag ($150-$200) and the best possible batteries for this setup. So is there anything else i would need and is this setup realistic (as in functional)? Last question is what is the best way to do it buy a complete one and upgrade it as I go and sell unused parts or build from scratch. Thanks.

Have you ever played in a mech box?
Do you have an idea of how many random small parts there are in an AEG?

Search the boards, it's been discussed to death before. Yeah, you can do it, but it's a bitch...

I recommend you buy a complete gun and upgrade as you learn more about it and as its needed.

I knew some one would say something like that. The answer is no... but you got to learn somewhere and I am a pretty good learner.

- Stock
- Buffer tube (if collapsable stock)
- Selector lever (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Bolt catch (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Mag release (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Charging handle (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Hop up rubber (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Receiver pins (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Trigger guard (may come with a few metal receivers - most don't have it)
- Body pin (may come with a few metal receivers - some do)
- Hop up chamber (may come with your metal receiver, most do)
- Grip plate
- Inner barrel
- Rear iron sight

The easiest way to learn is to start with a complete gun - that way, you know what's *suppose* to be there.
