mag slippage/accidental loss

soft sided pistol holsters, including dropleg platforms, have a tendency to eject the mags, most times without the user nowing about it. i may have found a way to prevent this. all you need is an old bicycle tire tube cut in the appropriate size and fit it over the magwell. see illustrations below.

it fits really tight and even when the mag is released it takes pressure to fully eject the mag by hand, so accidental loss should not happen. i will be testing this on the weekend to see if it works.

I would love to hear how this turns out...I have the same problem with my pistols, especially the Mk 23. One of my mags fell a good 25 feet when I was climbing down a ladder. No lasting damage was done, fortunately, but I've been paranoid ever since about losing mags.

I got this tip from CDN Stalker.. hes been using it on his G19 for years now, I dont have the problem with my P226, but I noticed the Glock ejects the mag instanly in my Tornado Holster..

its a simple cheap idea to save your mags.

Ya, my idea from two years ago (after I lost a G19 mag from my shoulder holster.......... I've told others about this idea, they often refer to it as "Stalker's Foreskin" and they love it on their Glocks).

Works for some guns, not for others. I have a larger peice of tube on my MK23 grip, but it's for grip and not to retain the mag. I've found that when the mag is fully seated it doesn't go anywhere, unless it's overfilled with BBs and doesn't seat properly.

I had this problem once with my Mk23. I found that as long as I'm careful when I put it in the holster it's fine. It sits in pretty tight and doesn't move around much so I think it's ok.

i use electrical tape but that looks like it will work too

does the tire tube not make for a lengthy mag change?

Well now I know when I finally become age of playing that I know how to not lose pistol clips! Unfortuntaly I probably won't remember.

Not in the G19 useage, but I haven't tried for Mk23 yet. Think of it this way, if you mainly use your GBB as a fast backup to your AEG for whatever reason, one mag should get you by long enough. But, if yo uplan to use your GBB for pistol only games, or CQB, then you just fold the 'foreskin' over the grip and it doesn't get in the way of changing mags at all.

Regarding the MK23, I recently got a Maxpedition Thermite Versipack, and I swear, it seems as if that pack was designed to be used as a holster for the MK23!!! The mag pouches on the sides hold the MK23 mags perfectly, the pouch holds the supressor and pistol very securely (after you cut that stupid D ring off the end of the strap), and it's 100% ambidexterous!!! Not only that, you can wear is as a drop leg (has it's own belt so yo udon't have as much gravitational strain on your belt as with a normal drop leg) or as a shoulder holster type deal. Best thing? It has an internal dust cover type thing that you can wrap around your pistol to keep sand, dirt and crap out of it, good for those Quick Pass type sand games.

Your pistol takes clips? Awsome. Mine takes magazines.

With my G19, I trimmed the tube down a bit so only the front of it folds over the mag, thats all it really needs doesn't need to fold around the entire. Makes for easier mag changes, just flip the front up, change mags, and fold it back down with your pinky finger on the fly.
