EOTech 553 Replica by Hurricane & GG&G EOTech Lens Covers
I have been looking into getting this Hurricane 553 over the past few weeks and love the way it looks as well as the height of the unit since I have an HK416. The 553 is made specificly for M4 type rifles so that the sight it not obscured by the iron sights.
http://img.redwolfairsoft.com/upload.../HOLO553-L.jpg Once the Chinesse clone comes out I hope they will add the trades as well as not forgetting to make sure that the windage and elevation dials do not get anodized any color. The real 553 has both the windage and elevation dials in original aluminium color. The next accessory I have been looking into getting is the GG&G EOTech Lens Covers. These lil guys work just like covers would work for other scopes such as the Aimpoints. Since I just sold my EOTech 552 and will be getting the Chineese Clone 552 I will let you all know how well they work on the replica once I recieve both. I have contacted GG&G and these currently dont work on the 553 or 557 but they are working on covers to fit those models to be released at a later date. I am also going to try to find someone to recreate the lens covers themselves to be a transparent material to make them that much better. I'll let you know how all this works out at that time. http://gggaz.com/uploaded_images/EOT...verCollage.jpg |
The china clone should be out in Nov.

I just ordered my HurricanE 553. With my experience with their 552 model being so positive (took hits from 10 feet away from a 400fps gun and they bounced off the tempered lens, accidentally left the unit on and 80 hours later the batteries where still going strong) I will pay the little extra bit to get the HurricanE.
|
Well I just got my GG&G EOTevh lens covers, I will follow up with some pics soon, and a review. These things look and work perfect on both the real steal EOTechs and clones.

where'd you get the covers from?
|
Right here on ebay(link below). The seller has over 1400+ transactions and 100% positive feed back. Shipping was real fast aswell. The package comes with 2 torx screwdrivers, 4 cushions(for optional use), and the lens covers unit. The covers fit on as one solid peice under the hood.

So the hood has to be removed to install the covers?
Darn. I'm not too keen on doing that to my real EOTech. I spoke with EOTech a while back and was specifically told that if any attempt was made to remove the hood, the warranty would be void. |
but its only a couple allen screws and sliding it off, its not like it really requires much to "attempt" to take it off.
|
Its very easy and could not cause any problems. The screws are only about 1/8 inch long. just unscrew them with the supplied toolds and slid off. Place the lens unit, slide back on, screw back in and Voila! Perfect covers.
I have spoken directly with John Baily at EOTech and if anything ever goes wrong with an EOTech they will fix it, usualy free aswell. I dont think there is anything they would consider as being wrong once the hood was removed and replaced. I mean nothing can realy go wrong. its like taking the batter cover off... very easy. :) |
anyone know where i can get a clear protector for my eotech? im paranoid about a bb hittin it, cuz its a real one.
