Current Canadian gear
 

K, I know its technically illegal to own Canadian military uniform right? I used to have the whole "old style" uniform + gear. I'm interested in getting some new gear, great quality stuff. I want to know 2 things...

Is it like... really illegal? if you are caught wearing something, are they gonna take it? I really don't know so... is that something I should worry about?

Is it even possible to get this gear any wear? I have looked online and ebay and neither seem to have some "official" Canadian equipment.

It's illegal to sell and own the non surplused stuff. But unless you get caught by the MPs, they're not gonna do anything from what I understand. The chance of getting caught, slim. Probably more chance encountering problems owning your airsoft gun than it is cadpat.

Civvies are not supposed to be in posession of issue CADPAT clothing and Equipment, but some of it does end up on Ebay, etc.

If you want to go for the Canadian look, just get a pair of repro CADPAT and some kind of aftermarket CADPAT, Green or Brown Chest Rig or vest. A number of troops don't wear the issue tac vest, but if you really want one armyissue.com sells a repro of it. cpgear.com has a really good modular tac vest too.

If you wear issued CADPAT then a crusty old RSM will butt rape you till you cry. [/sarcasm] ;)

Don't worry about getting jacked for having the issued LTWT's (regular shirt or trousers), but you'll be trying your luck when/if you get into stuff like ICE Goretex and some of the 'harder to get' bits of kit. Trust me.

Browse around on eBay or contact Army Issue if you want some good deals on CADPAT bits and bobs. If you're looking at repro CADPAT but want it to 'look real' I'd suggest Frontenac.

Yes ArmyIssue is the CADPAT pimp and can outfit you with everything you need in CADPAT except for some of the aftermarket stuff out there. Buy from him or else he gonna pimpslap you. Trust me I'm a CADPAT whore. As for issued stuff last time I was in he had surplussed bdu's, boonies, helmet, goretex boots, jackets and some other stuff that I cant quite think of right now and the repro tactical vest which is about as close to the real thing your gonna get without finding the real one and cheaper then ebay.

He's got loads of CADPAT stuff. Some of it is repro and some of it is issue. You can be sure that the issue stuff has been properly surplused and that you're not taking it from a soldier who needs it.
