Intro

Hi. My name is Fred. I'm 15 and I live in Quebec. I read on another thread that before trying to get into airsoft, I should wait until I become major (even though I could theorically play in a few months when I hit 16, I'd still be a chairsofter) before getting myself a gun and going to an event.

I also read that I should get to know airsoft and the people on here while I wait, so I made this thread. If I posted it in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

I'm not, unlike many people of my age, immature and stupid. I consider myself smarter than the people I go to school with (Heck, nobody speaks english as good as I do. Not even the real english speakers). Upon reading the last few lines, you may think I like to praise myself and stuff. It's true, I do, but I just say the truth. I'm not perfect (far from it, actually).

I've never seen or touched an actual airsoft weapon (Exept for some crappy clearsoft in Canadian Tire) but I know much about it. Anyway, hi.

Hi!

It's indeed best if you hold off since most events are 18+. Coupled with the fact that this is about the worst time to buy guns with retailers dropping left and right, I would advise you to wait.

Perhaps you could arrange to meet players in a scheduled game in you region if they allow it, to see the gear and allow you to make your case, but it's much easier to wait.

'Till then stick to paintball or something.

I tip my hat to you good sir. As said by yourself most events are 18+ so it would be a good idea to get yourself familiar with the sport. When people say stick to paintball it is jsut cause it is somewhat similar to Airsoft.
You have already taken a step infront of most new commers with this introduction and hopefully if you keep up your maturity. Flaming will occur to most people so don't let it out you down.

Glad to have you.

Cheers

Yes, indeed. I doubt I'd actually go to an event just to see some weapons, considering I don't drive. I guess paintball is a good option. At least when I start milsim I'll have a bit of accuracy. Having played football for soon 10 years, I'm pretty sure I can take a couple of BBs. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Edit : Thank you JTF. I'm not new to forums so I can deal with flaming :P
