usesing a longer stick battry in AK47S
 

I have a AK47S and would like to use 9.6v Stick battry , but the area is to small , i have taken the metal bar out, but the passage is to narrow to fit , do I cut away the part infront of the sight and grind the passage out so I can fit a longer stick battry?
