Spring rifle trigger mechanism help req.

Okay, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to springers so I'm hoping someone out there might be able to offer some help.

I was thinking of doing a little bolt action project & was considering using a Dboys Kar98 as the base the only problem is that for what I had in mind I'd prefer the trigger mechanism to be further forward.

So my question is, how difficult would it be to rig the trigger to be set further forward on a spring rifle? Is this even realistically possible? If so a simple yet comprehensive explanation would earn my undying gratitude.

Realistically??? Yes it is possible, however, you wouldn't be able to use much of the existing trigger assembly. Your project would really only work if the majority of the rifle was done from scratch in order to accomidate the replacement of the trigger location. Once you figure out where you are relocating the trigger, it'd just be a matter of working a bracket system (simular to what is found in the AUG or P90) to operate the sears (working directly from the trigger to the sear 'B'), OR you could work with a longer sear 'B' pin....both of which will be very tricky depending on how far you move the trigger from it's original location.

Good luck if you consider trying this...

thanks for the advice, I'd only really be using the bolt assembly & receiver from the Kar98. I figure the trigger would ideally be about an inch forward of it's current location, is this a manageable distance?

Sorry to sound like such a spanner & all help or suggestions are very much appreciated!

One inch should be very managable. Depending on which route you go, you'll need a bit of luck or skill. It's by no mens an impossible job, just make sure you take the time to line everything up properly to ensure that the trigger works properly and has a good response time. If you have any type of mechanical skill and access to decent tools, you should pull it off with no problems.
