HOW TO DECOCK MAIN SPRING ON AN AEG

Wanting to know, I'm storing one of my AEG's for a while. Only using it on special games or so... I would like to know, how do I storage the gun with the main spring not compressed in the gearbox, so as time goes on it doesn't weaken the spring... Need someone's expert help.

Thanks,
Gun runner

Sorry Guys, Title should say "HOW TO DECOCK MAIN SPRING ON AN AEG"... Sorry for the miss spelling

O.K, After firing it a few times, How would I know if the spring is compressed or not?

1 cycle = 1 compression of the spring as soon as the shot is fired the spring is not compressed anymore.

I find it best to do semi two to three times. Usually the first semi works but the second or third shot just eases my mind.

If you don't believe this practice you can give it a shot with the upper part of the mechbox exposed and you can see it.

Listen carefully while shooting. If you hear the gearbox wind after the pop, it's not fully decocked.

Make sure to pull the trigger ALL the way back. Usually just one shot in semi will work, but listen to the gearbox while shooting.

I put a black mark using a marker on the side of my piston (which can be seen though the cylinder port) whe I had the mechbox apart, and it tells me appoximately how much compression the piston is at. I don't think it is 100% decompressed though from the mark but pretty close.

Take your pistol grip off, and pull on the anti reversal latch that's inside the gearbox. It's the best way but it's a bit tricky if you've never done it before lol

hey I just had an idea of drilling a hole with my very small diameter drill bit and then I could delatch the antireverse with a pin or paperclip. Wonder if it would be a good idea?
