Very, very nice. I like it. I really like that flash hider too. What kind is it?

Just curious, how compatible are the externals on the A&K with other M249 models? I have the A&K Mk II, and I'd love to put a railed "bolt cover" (or whatever the top part is called). I see them listed as Star and TOP and such, but never see them listed as compatible with A&K or CA, which this is a clone of.

Mr Jon July 16th, 2008 16:23

They appear to be compatible with a bit of creative modification, I actually purchased a G&P MK46 railed feed tray cover only to find out it would be rediculously hard to mod so I pulled the bolt guide and reare site from it. A&K themselves make a railed version of that cover which guarentees 100% compatibility. I have one on order so I can slap an Elcan on for a final touch. As for the flash hider, it's just an MK1 flash hider which I may exchange for a standard M4 one or perhaps something more menacing.

I've been looking to the usual Asian sources for the railed A&K feed tray cover (thanks! Now I know what it's called!) and haven't been able to find one. I remember one place had them, but were out of stock. Where did you order yours? I really want to put an Elcan on mine as well.

thats brings tears to my eyes.

Dynamo July 16th, 2008 16:42

awsome gun, but one thing is bugging me about it.
the links on the ammo belt are backwards and not in the right position.
the little long part with the lip on it should be down by the base of the casing.
the little lip should sit in the extraction groove.

Nice catch there. I hadn't noticed that at all.

Beautiful.. I used to want a SAW. Now I need one.

Crunchmeister July 16th, 2008 17:27

I didn't really want a SAW at all, but got it as part of a trade I would have been retarded to refuse, so I had to get it. Well, I did sort of want one, but wasn't willing to fork out the cash for what would end up being nothing more than a showpiece in my home recording studio. So how I have one, and I'm happy with it. However, I'm sure other people will probably use it more at games than I will.

Roughneck July 16th, 2008 17:39

I normally use my M14 socom in a scout/DM role. I really want a SAW to change it up a bit and waste some ammo.. if you care to part with yours.. drop me a line!

*Not trying to thread jack.. back on topic now

Crunchmeister July 16th, 2008 17:47

Not likely to part with it now that I have it. I've grown quite fond of it since I got it. I'm really quite impressed with it all around. I just wouldn't want to be running through the woods with this big, heavy bastard. Now, if I was in a base defence scenario or something, I'd be lighting people up with this thing like my life depended on it...

This is my baby.
