How long does customs take?
 

Hi there I have an order on route from redwolf airsoft and am getting worried here is the tracking.

14-Jul-2008 Hong Kong Item posted.
14-Jul-2008 Hong Kong Processed for departure.
15-Jul-2008 Hong Kong The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 15-Jul-2008
15-Jul-2008 Canada Arrived.
15-Jul-2008 Canada Pending customs inspection.

It has been (pending a customs inspection) for a long time now and I am starting to get worried that my order may have gotten seized.
Is this normal am I just being impacent?
How long to customs inspections normally take?

I ordered a gearbox from airsoft gi, it travelled alot more. But it never said anything about the customs..

Took about a week for me to get my stuff through. I was pretty impressed with the shipping actually. I ordered mags and a few other bits and bobs.

They don't check every package, but they ones they do flag to get inspected get put in a queue... if they're backed up, it can take a while before your package is inspected / cleared. It's only been a week, but if your stuff is seized, which it doesn't appear it should, you'll be getting a letter notifying you. It's been a week, so I'd say give it another before really panicking.

I've had a package in customs pending review for 3 weeks and it came through fine. Yeah it sucks but you have nothing that should be confiscated.

Normally with redwolf and border inspection it about 10 business days!

That doesn't seem like the items you bought are illegal to import to Canada. I know the basics, but not everything. Don't bank on what I have to say.

There are no fixed times for customs. Sometimes, your package doesn't get inspected at all, although stuff coming from known airsoft suppliers is more likely to get looked at. Sometimes, it can be in and out of Customs within a couple of hours, and other times, I can stay in there for weeks on end. There is no fixed amount of time.
