KWA USP Recoil Spring Guide
 

Last night the end of my recoil spring guide snapped. The metal part at the end (part 43) that is held by a pin in the spring guide snapped. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement? I've searched the usual spots and there's no replacement for part 43 (the spring guide assembly) or 41 (just the guide). I've contacted Triador airsoft and I'm awaiting a quote but is there any other sources for these parts?

www.uncompany.com has alot of replacment parts and should have it. KWA is the same as KSC so look under KSC USP parts.

It's decent. It sucks to buy a $30 part that all I need is the little thing at the end and then have to pay another $20 on top for shipping. I'm still awaiting the quote from Triador airsoft but I don't expect it to be much less.

I ordered the part tonight. You have to call them and give them your credit card number. They said they'd ship it out tomorrow so I'll see how long it takes.

What I can tell you is it can't be fixed with epoxy. At least not with JB Weld and that is tough stuff. There's just too little surface area and I've tried it twice. If you're brave, what you can do is somehow build a lip so the rear spring stop and spring will stay attached to the rod. Then place the broken back part behind it and slide the whole thing into place. This works if you're coordinated enough and the gun is fire-able, however, I'm not comfortable gaming it like that.

don’t think ill epoxy it. I ordered the parts of KWA usa, i have my fingers crossed but i think they should deliver. Anyways do you know what caused the problem in the first place, im using propane with my gun.

It might be a weakness of the part. I also ran my gun on propane and it's seen a lot of rounds and abuse. I've heard from other people it might be prone to breaking. One reviewer had it snap also but got a free replacement (unfortunately us Canadians don't have the luxury of a warranty) and a guy running a 150% recoil spring has had a couple go.

I'm hoping it's just mine was an old design that has been updated. My recoil spring didn't look like the one in the manual on the website. It was also a different number than in my manual so perhaps the design has been updated (and hopefully improved but only time will tell).

The spring actually seems to be holding up with the fix I described in my last post. I've put about 150 rounds through it and it's still going strong. It's a good temporary fix and I may game it if the replacement doesn't come by Monday.

You can superglue the top spring stop onto the rod (after the spring is in of course) and that will make it stay in place. Then place the broken guide behind it where it would normally be and slide the whole thing into place SLOWLY. The glue will prevent the spring from coming loose and the back part despite being broken will prevent the assembly from moving back and forth.

Thanks you have been a great help, but I don’t think I will try to glue it. It is too risky for me and i don’t really mind waiting anyways.

This may not be very related and I hope I am not thread jacking this thread from you or anything but do you know if a silencer added to my usp will add any durability issues or cycle issues? Im thinking of putting a Madbull Gemtech Blackside on it.

It shouldn't affect durability or create cycle issues. The weight of your slide and everything will remain the same. You'll need a threaded barrel for it though.
