VSR-10 Project.

Alright I just got my TM VSR-10 in last night along with the upgrade items listed below.

Laylax PSS10 Ball Bearing Spring Guide
Laylax PSS10 Air Seal Damper Cylinder Head
Laylax PSS10 150 Spring
PDI Precision Inner Barrel for PDI VSR10 6.05(554mm)
King Arms Silencer Adapter
JBU Slim 8.25 inch Suppressor
On its way:
Laylax Zero Trigger w/ orange piston.
Nine ball hopup rubber.

Now the M150 spring is believed to push it around 500 fps. I don't have much experience with shooting a weapon of this velocity, however I took it out to test fire it in its stock form using .25's and was impressed with its accuracy. Since adding the upgraded parts, of course I've noticed the huge velocity difference(still using .25's) but a decrease in accuracy.
It seems as if it likes to hook to the right %50 of the time, what could be the cause of this?

it could be the bb's weight, but try setting the hop-up lower.

CHEERS!

back the hop up completely off then clean your barrel really well. What ammo are you using?

Start there before you do anything drastic.

Muffin August 1st, 2008 12:15

Barrel is clean, and it isn't a hop-up issue M700, try again.
I just simply want to know, from those that have experience, what the best weight of ammo would be for this velocity.

Muffin August 1st, 2008 12:59

Alright for the most part its hooking to the right.
I'm using .25 Airsoft Elites.

Amos August 1st, 2008 13:11

Try .30

Did you make sure you put the bucking back on the barrel right?

Muffin August 1st, 2008 13:18

I'm pretty sure its on as it should be. When swapping the inner barrels I slipped on the bucking lining up that crease on the barrel with the the lifted line in the bucking.

My personal opinion I like Straight 0.36g BB’s (without the graphite), also I think 6.05mm isn’t tight enough of a inner barrel

Muffin August 1st, 2008 13:45

Ya I'm kinda wishing that I would have gotten something tighter. Would a tighter diameter really make the difference?

Amos August 1st, 2008 13:47

Come out to a game on the 10th and bring it, I'll take a look at it to see if it's preforming how it should.

Muffin August 1st, 2008 13:54

I just might take you up on that Amos. I'm going to be ordering a Nine ball rubber today along with a scope and sling mounts.

Muffin August 2nd, 2008 16:34

Many have suggested dumping the 6.05 for something tighter, I've found myself a PROMETHEUS 6.03 and also a 6.01. Can anyone confirm what difference this would make with one of these?

BeAcH August 2nd, 2008 17:46

When going to a tightbore barrel the advantages are;

-Tighter grouping of shots
-Increase in effective range
-More consistance in your FPS

these are the immediate changes that you should notice......make sure that you are using a high quality bb.

Beach

Ya I figured as much, I just never would have guessed that a fraction of a millimeter would have such an affect.

Daiviet August 2nd, 2008 18:52

Fractions of millimeters make a huge difference, all the air that used to go around the bb in those extra fractions, are now being put towards pushing the bb forward.
