Need help with KWA KM4A1 .
 

Hi ! I just bought this gun about 1 months ago but it broke after 500 shot. hahaha very funny. Look like, I never get luck with M4A1 gun, this is my second AR that broke just only 500 rounds. Anyway, Here we go the story :

This morning, I just want to test the gun to make sure everything perfect before go the game , but after 30 rounds, the gun suddenly stop working but the motor still running because I can hear the sound of it. The gearbox doesn't work at all, just only motor. So I decide to take out the motor to find out what happen again. I took it out, I saw one piece of gear tongue inside the mechbox. So I took it out and take picture asking you guy what is that piece come from ?

I want to open the mechbox but the I can't take it out from the lower receiver, there is one pin above the trigger but I can't take it out. Any suggestion will be appreciate ? Thanks.

Now, I'm so tired of fixing the gun anymore and I have to leave the country next two or three day. So I'm looking a gunsmith in Montreal that I can leave the gun too. Thanks.

The pin above the trigger can be punched out with a pin or a small screwdriver and a hammer.

Now I found out the problem now, the piece that borke is from the sector gear.

wow that retarded, are u running a lipo on that? how did it break? did u modify internals or was it broken from factory?

Luckily, sector gears aren't hard to find and are fairly cheap. Just get a new one, shim and you're good to go again.

And the pin only punches out one way. You have to figure out which way it went in.

I didn't modify it yet and I'm running Lipo.

Hum, I don't think marui will be able to handle lipo :/ It may, be it may broke too.

Maybe some reinforced gears will help !

for one thing, do not use lipo it wll kill ur gun much faster than a traditional battery pack.

secondly get a reinforced gear as someone said, marui gear will shred.

I would shoot a email to KWA they have been very good with dealing with defects stateside, im sure they could mail you the parts. These guns are lipo rated so you should be able to use that if you wish.

They're not really lipo rated to the degree everybody thinks.

KWA says that the most powerful LiPo that can be used safely in their guns has a maximum discharge rate of 18 amps. That's absolutely nothing in the Li-Poly world... considering a Ni-Mh battery can output more than 30 amps without problem.

just because it says lipo ready, doesnt mean u can abuse it with lipo, its not even realistic, the fire rate. switch to normal batteries, if u want to install lipo, u ahve to buy better reinforced gear set, modify tappet plate, rewire with 14awg wire, have a 16a fuse, max 20a.

use noraml abtteries, using lipo will cause u way too many problems in the future.

I swear from now on, I won't buy any AR anymore but If I want AR, I will buy the PTW instead of that creepy KWA and G&P.

My first gun is custom G&P, I put the new in box G&P gearbox and just only about 600 rounds, it's broke. Do you think it's funny ? now my second AR is happen the same.

so tired now, my next gun might be PTW.

Don't get too discouraged, I've gone through about 6 m4's in the past 4 years or so, 3 of them have been perfect no issues stock, 3 broke after a few rounds and needed replacement parts, all were brand new... :) The QC on most airsoft mfg's seems to be iffy to me.
