Help With GBB Pistols
 

I am currently doing my research in order to decide on a sidearm. My two final contestants are the following:

Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa Custom Dual Stainless

KSC USP .45 (System 7) GBB

I have a few questions before deciding which one I want. I was mainly leaning more towards the USP since it has a longer inner barrel and a higher fps. The Marui is also a tempting option since most reviews said it is very reliable and accurate. My concerns are wether the KSC or the Marui has better internals and if the fps difference is enough to decide on the KSC.

Apart from this would it be a major hassle to change the slide to a metal one in the future?

I would like to hear opinions from anyone who has had any experience with these two GBBs or from anyone who can offer advice.

I would say stick with the Hi-capa. There's tonnes of upgrade options available for it, and its damned accurate.

I think Hi-Capa is a better bet, if you plan to upgrade. They are easier to work on and has tons of parts available. I think stock KSC shoots harder than stock Marui, but accuracy is likely better on the TM due to the hop-up.

Upgrading to metal in terms of difficulty they are probably the same, I think TM kits costs more(if you are interested in slides made by SD or something like that), and you have to buy the barrel seperately as opposed to most KSC kits. I don't know if system 7 requires different slide design compare to those for KSC available now though....

With regards to fps difference is there much of a difference or is it minimal. And is the quality of internals much better in one than in the other? and which one has more metal inner parts? The quality is what concerns me most as I do not know how to arrange and fix and in my country its hard to get a gun fixed so I would like it to last long.

The System7 one is just all new and fancy with some improvements over the last system.

+ Try finding a serpa for a Hicapa.

im still not sure. its in the balance again because the hi capa gained points with me now. the system 7 is supposed to have be more gas efficient i read. will changing to a metal slide be harder due to fact that it is system 7. and which of the 2 has more metal internals? if i had the $$ i would buy them both. thats why its easier to be rich :( im so undecided. oh and what upgrades do you refer to when you say that the hi capa has more available upgrades??

Thats why I am not sure....System 7 is new, and with KSC a lot of the updated system uses different parts(just look at how many kinds of M9 mags are there for them). I don't know if system 7 will bolt right in to the aftermarket slides that are made for the "old" KSC USP. Hell, it could just be they change the seal and nothing is different. But AFAIK that's not the case.

In the case of the FPS. My guaging point stems from my experience before with their Glock 19 and all my subsequent TMs. That Glock to my knowledge have nothing really done to it other than metal slide+barrel, and upgraded recoil spring. That glock easily out powers my stock TM G26, then my metal kitted Hi-Capa(at the time). It is not until my Hi-Capa been upgraded to the tits to see power like that....now their Glock and USP uses different system so how much of the difference is there I have no idea...

maniac, you seem to have both these 2 guns. Honestly which one would you go for and why? I am not asking this question to take the easy way out because I know I cannot base my decision on one opinion but on many opinions and reviews.

my USP .45 was of the old gen, so I don't know how it would compare, and I actually have not used it yet....I don't have my propane adaptor with me....

I personally love the Hi-Capa/1911 line from TM. Easy to work on and once tuned they are quite nice to shoot(not to say stock is not good to start with). And you really can't go wrong with TM's GBB these days....

Ok so I have decided that I am going to go with the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 4.3 Custom Dual Stainless. Just a few last questions. Is there any difference (apart from aesthetics) between this model and the normal, all-black 4.3 Hi-Capa? And what upgrades would you suggest for increased durability and maybe fps. I was thinking of getting a Shooter's Design black Infinity metal slide. If i change the slide what else do i need to change to be able to use green gas?

I prefer the 5.1 hicapa instead of the 4.3, but it's my personnal opinion!

For differences between the normal 4.3 and the dual stainless, i think it has a different safety, both the slide and grip. internals should be exactly the same however.

In all honesty, you don't need to upgrade the capa at all, it'll perform very well for a long time on green gas. However, if you really do feel the need to upgrade to a metal slide, you're going to want a stronger recoil and hammer spring. I suggest the Guarder 150% springs.

along with the slide, you'll eventually want to replace the outer barrel too, because the metal slide will begin to chew up the plastic stock barrel.

My advice, keep it stock.
