g18 paint job

i saw this clip from a guy with a glock slide
YouTube - Customized Slide (Stock KWA G18c Airsoft)

and im just thinking should i make my slide look like that the only difference the black stripes at the black would be silver and the main slide wouldn't be silver and black just black

waht do you think?

Styrak August 31st, 2008 21:13

Yup. Many people polish their slides. The black stripes are there because there are slits in the slide and you need to pay special attention to sanding those if you want the whole slide silver.

Wait, main slide would be black and not silver/black?

You mean the entire slide would be black? Then what exactly would you be sanding/have silver?

i think hes saying that the indented lines are going to be silver and the rest black.

the chamber inner barrel and the back slits will be silver the rest normal black

okay i started it i'll post some pics in the media section soon

sounds like a good combination with the silver accents, always nice to have your gun look different from everyone else's I sanded and polished my G23's outer barrel and chamber block, get different grades of sandpaper and start with the coarsest and work your way down to the finest grade

This might do better in the gun mod section but nonetheless looks cool. Maybe I should do something like that when I get a GBB.

What I would do is get 2 of the same glocks and sandpaper one in a pattern and mirror it on the other (ie slide is black on one, slide is silver on other grip is black on one, then I use some paint to paint the other silver).

Also, not to threadjack, but does anyone know if "drybrushing" a metallc colour works and won't lose it's lustre after lots of use?

when i use mettallic colours i usually rough up what ever im painting then paint it and it lasts longer not sure about dry brushing though
