Building an ICS MP5A5 from only parts - Can it be done?
 

I know Blazing Toys in the states carries all the necessary bits and pieces, or so I think. I'm thinking a Systema gearbox set inside an ICS metal body set and all ICS externals. So, can it be done?

Not sure how non-ICS mechboxes fit into an ICS body. They don't have the split deisgn like the Armalites (yet - that's an upcoming ICS product), but not sure if their MP5 has a proprietary mechbox or not.

But technically, you could do that. You can order every part you need from outside the country except the upper receiver.

Personally, I'd go for a CA body instead. I love the feel of the metal CA uses.

Thanks - I'll go for the CA body instead then. The only reason I planned to go all ICS was because I have seen and love the texturing on the foregrip, although other brands may have that quality too.

I'm currently in the process of building up my JG MP5 with CA parts. I have a CA front end, upper receiver, foregrip and full stock. I'm keeping the plastic JG lower receiver (like on the real thing - metal upper, plastic lower). CA's fibre reinforced nylon stocks and grips feel great and they're quite strong too.

Sorry for the double post, but it will get more attention than an edit; How is the CA retractable stock in your opinion (if you've used it)? If anyone has also tried the ICS retractable stock, how solid are they? I'm trying to figure out which has less wobble, if any.

EDIT: Also, the ICS Navy upper & lower has an ABS lower receiver I think. I checked ICS' website and on the product pages for the lowers they say they are ABS. If anyone can tell me for certain whether or not the Systema complete gearbox will fit the ICS body it would be much appreciated.
