Wide-leg BDUs?
I'm looking for a pair of good quality BDUs. What brand features a wide leg opening?
|
...wide leg opening?
You mean like a zippered bottom for putting on over your boots? Cuz I've only seen those on arctic and Goretex trousers. |
Nah, not zippered. Just large enough to fit over boots.
|
How big are your boots?

i bought a pair of black bdu pants. i kinda dont like the way they look, theyre really baggy in the thigh area but then they really taper down towards the ankles. theyd be better if they werent so baggy and straight leg too |
My BDUs come in all styles because Im such a fashion whore, Ive got boot cut, flare, slim , straight leg and wide leg, but thats me and I totally need all those styles to maintain my on field sexiness.
Anyways Ive only really come across one pair of BDU bottoms that was even remotely wide leg'ish. They appear to be an old pair of surplused cold weather woodland pants with draw string at the bottom. All the tag says is Large-Regular Waist 35 to 39 IN. inseam 29 1/2 To 32 1/2 IN. Stock NO: 8415-01-099-7860 NATO SIZE: 7583/8999 Sorry I dont know what else to tell ya. |

The Huang multicam (and I'd guess the real Crye) have super long zips on both legs. You could pull them over your boots.

lol. All I meant was a relatively straight leg instead of tapered. Just wondering if someone could tell me which of the biggest brands had the widest leg opening.
I was thinking of going with the Propper brand, but from pictures it looks like they use a very tapered leg. http://www.bdu.com/w-images/F520112320.jpg Whereas the Tru-Spec brand appears to have a wider leg. http://216.235.148.190/WebServices/i...M_3300_FA4.JPG But it's hard to tell from pictures. The second picture could be significantly shorter than the proppers, giving the illusion of a wider leg. |
question... are bdu pants meant to be worn really high up on your waist? cuz mine have so much freakin crotch in them
|
I've always worn mine across my hips, maybe surgery will help fill the groin area?
I think with bloused pants moving out of use the narrow cut will be the easier ones to find. If you ever get to the mainlaind head into Dave's Surplus in New West, they've got a good run of various BDUs you can compare or try on face to face. |
Dude, just make a trip to the mainland and check out Dave's in New West :D
|
yeah they are meant to be worn higher than your typical pair of jeans. Tuck your shirt in, and straigten out your gig line soldier.

Ok, DUDE. They're all the same. Every fucking pair of them. That's why they're called BDU's. The U stands for UNIFORM, which loosely translated means ALL THE FUCKING THE SAME. The only BDU's I've ever seen with tapered legs were done by emo fucks who had their mommies taper them to fit their skinny fucking legs. If it's REALLY that big an issue for you, have someone sew slits into the bottom and close em up with zippers or velcro. |
