TM MP5K More Problems

Well finally got the wiring problem fixed right but now new problems arise

I got these to replace my stripped gears in my V3 TM Gearbox, the Element 300% High Torque gearset

http://cgi.ebay.com/ELEMENT-STEEL-Ge...713.m153.l1262

Getting a Modify Polycarbonate Piston Head as well later on to replace stock piston head

Problem:

1. No matter how I shim, the Bevel and Spur gear seem to always bind and not spin. Strange thing is I can get the Spur and Selector gear to spin well with each other.

I can use my cheapy chinese gears and they spin great with no binding no matter how I shim them

I was wondering should I just stick with getting the stock V3 Marui Gearset instead?

Note: Element are also cheapy chinese gears. Maybe you should try another gearset, but maybe you are just not shimming right.

Also, I thought you sold that gun? I was wanting it but you said it was sold.

from what I have read, mp5's become problematic as soon as you upgrade them, leave them bone stock and youll have a great gun.

I could be wrong...

I'd get some other gears.
gears are a central element of the mechbox, you don't wanna cheap out on them.
either you buy another gear set, or you can also buy just the gear you need.
30$ being rouglhy the basic cost for 1 quality gear, not the whole set.

Yeah it was going to be but then I found out there were more problems and it would be more loss if I sold it and bought a new gun then just repairing

And the Element I got is also cheapy chinese? Great.... perhaps I should have not listened to my friend

As for the shimming I tried different combinations already as I said before no matter what the shimming combinations nothing seemed to work, it just binds

Aside from that thanks for the tips though, all the other problems I had before are fixed just the gearset is my final testament

Perhaps if I cannot remedy the Element Gears I'll just pick up the Modify gears since most my parts are modify anyway

Not saying that Element parts are bad, they're just also cheap and chinese. not sure about quality or durability. I have used an Element tightbore for a while before and it worked well.

Finally fixed!!

mechbox.com and advice from m102404 (Tyson) helped me finally perfect the shim job

and I just stuck with normal Marui gears as I don' think I need any new "Speed" or "High Torque" for something that is CQB

After breaking internals once
- Ripped gear teeth
- Broken in half piston

I replaced everything with Modify parts and Marui gears and everything is smooth once again!

Hooray thanks to all who helped

If anyone ever has any problems with V3 gearboxes or want to become a first time tinkerer you can PM or other gun docs you find here in my thread who helped out
