G&P/KA Metal Body Compatibility Question

I've been searching for an answer to this but have yet to get a straight answer. If you look at WGC's site it indicates that each G&P M4 metal body requires a G&P front end. If you look at Redwolf or UNC there is no such indication. So I turn to the community for their advice.
In specific what I'm doing is upgrading the plastic body on a JG M733 and would like to keep as much of the original furniture as possible since I'm on a budget. Will the JG front end fit on a G&P or King Arms receiver? Or do I need to buy a new barrel nut?
Any responses appreciated.

I bought a D-Boy metal body to go my JG M16A4 and the complete metal RIS front-end fit nicely on that body. Don't know on G&P's...

As far as I know, the threading on the majority of metal bodies has standard threading that will accept most brands of airsoft outer barrels and their barrel nuts. There may be a few exceptions, but I think it's pretty safe to say that it should work.

depends on what model or type of front end your m4 has.
i put a g&p on my jg 416. the front end fits good on it cept where the difference in rail height is and i had to custom make and glue a nub onto the upper above where the delta ring screws on to keep the ris rail on the front end in place

so yea your jg's front end will probly fit on there just fine. the upper and bolt will be a very tight fit on the gearbox though

G&P will be compatible with mostly anything, except for some stuff with weird threading like some ICS and other stuff(I think?). Most normal front ends will be fine.

Here is my experience.

G&P Upper Receivers are threaded slightly larger than TM, CA, DBOYS, KA, Mad Bull, and HurricanE uppers.

The difference is something stupid like .3mm (according to Mad Bull), and for just that reason, Mad Bull released a D-Ring re-threader to take uppers with larger threads than the standard brands, and re-thread them so "standard" front-ends and D-rings will fit on them.

In my experience, even after re-threading it, it is still a little tight, but you can get the new D-ring on without issues and it's nice and solid to boot.

I'm no GBB Rifle expert, but apparently the WA M4 GBB is the same dimensions as the G&P (larger threads than the "standard" airsoft manufacturers).

Now, which one is the same dimensions as a "real steel" d-ring? I have no idea - I have no experience with them, or with PTWs.

You should add the ICS in the larger treads list.

However, it apparently is a hit or miss thing.

I had to install a KA Knights Armaments RIS front set on the ICS.

It was not fitting, the treadings where too large on the ICS.

So I took the VLTOR RIS (made by KA) off a KA built gun (KA metal body).

The Kights RIS fitted the KA body without issue.
And the VLTOR RIS fitted on the ICS perfectly (almost, I had to modify the lower holding section because the ICS body was larger).

Both same brand, both fitted on the KA body, but not the ICS...

Having just gone through this experience putting a Madbull RAS on a G&P body...all I can say is don't. As from the horses mouths:
WGC - G&P bodies only take G&P front ends
Redwolf: A G&P body requires modification to fit any other front end

My experience, don't waste your money on the Madbull rethreader. Complete, yes, complete, waste of money. I tried for hours to get the threader to work, wouldn't work at all. Yes I did it the right way. Went to Home Depot, bought a precision file set for $3. I used the triangle file to clean the threads. After 15 minutes of evenly filing all of the threads, wallah...Madbull ras fits perfectly.

Re-threading issue is why my signature is "G&P can suck my balls"

Would would a G&G ras fit on a G&P body?

jaoquinz December 20th, 2008 12:44

I had a G&P MBK on my TM M4. Thread on the upper receiver were a little large. Sanded off the paint, fitted the steel barrel nut with a barrel wrench and it basically rethreaded itself. Worked. Alumnium body with a steel nut would work as alumnium is softer and galvanisation would occur down the road that would bind the steel nut to the alumnium receiver. Rock solid front end.
