AR15 'Stand'

I'm looking for a AR 15 stand. Thats what i call it because i don't know of the name of it.

It needs to attach to a RIS to basicaly hold the gun in place when doing zeroing in. Anyone has any idea what they are called and who makes them?

Thanks :)

You don't need a gun-stand or gun-vice for an airsoft gun Ronan. :P

A quality bench rest is all you need to zero in a real AR. No need to hold the gun that firmly (and the recoil will let you know why).

Go to any gun shop and take your pick.

Or you could do like the fellow on the PTW forums and make oun out of a mag shell, but for display only I guess.

Refer to my sig :D

McGuyver i'm talking about something like a tripod that attaches to the handguard via the RIS. Used primarily to hold the gun with zero wobbling/movement. I tried some googling but the searches came back with a lot of different things and none of what i'm looking for.

Like this silver thing but for the rails.

Use a proper zeroing target sheet and you really don't need a rest at all (I've been into precision long rifles for my entire life, btw).

Here is another option, a little more conservative. I like the big rack myself. LOL

Yeah but doesn't hold the gun in perfect position ;)

I need the stand so theirs zero deviations from the gun. Basically so i can use it as a platform with no third party variations from the gun moving etc etc, at least keep that at the BARE minimum.

mcguyver November 2nd, 2008 20:49

Ronan, why exactly do you need such a serious bench rest?

Look Ronan, how is anybody supposed to give you accurate, timely, and meaningful suggestions if you're not going to tell us what exactly it is you're trying to accomplish. Until you do, any advice given to you would be pure speculation and a waste of your time and everybody else's. Quit fucking around and sort yourself out.

Btw, so far from the sounds of it, you're looking to build some kind of mobile remotely operated l337 5nip3r contraption you saw on the Discovery Channel.
