Recommended upgrades for JG SIG 552

i'm looking into buying a Jing Gong (or cybergun, somewhere in these forums, one bored day, i read that they were the same just rebranded...), and i was wondering what upgrades you guys out there would recommend i get for it?
any idea is okay. thanks :D

Off the bat, maybe metal bushings if it doesn't have any and a metal spring guide, and maybe a tightbore. Beyond that, play with it first, then you'll know what you need to do with it.

They're actually pretty damn good stock. A lot of the guys I played with on Saturday were using them, and they were performing excellently.

my buddy and i played our first airsoft game saturday with our cybergun sig 552's. They are great: 380-390 fps stock, pretty accurate. We got a few kills each (not bad for newbs) Just baby the plastic body (eventually i will be getting the hurricane metal)

New hop up rubber and a tight bore barrel.

i thought cybergun aegs were junk, cuz i hear more bad about them than anything good

You have a right to your opinion: some who have actually gotten the cybergun sig 552 think otherwise.

okay, i'll give it a couple of tests once it's ordered and here, then i'll see what its going to need.
i most likely plan on painting the clear body black, then some day i just might look about for a metal receiver. thanks again

edit: where would i be able to get an RIS mount for the top so I could mount on my red dot?
would any TM compatible mount do?

And you think FPS is everything or what?

Alphaj1 November 9th, 2008 23:50

ehobbyasia-mine fits perfectly

just look for it in the accessory section. It is TM compatible. Just look at the last post and the threads provided-CAT's cybergun sig 552 is nice and had the TM top rail.

the JG sig 552 is nice-so if you are age verified just pay the extra 150-200 dollars to get that. I am only in the process of getting verified and would have gotten the JG, but i couldnt wait so i got the cybergun version. I got it for 199.99. They have since jacked up the price and depending where you buy it, it might be $230-245.

I only said it was between 380-390. I never said that FPS is the be all and end all of airsoft. Again I am a newb, and you probably know more. I pointed out those threads not to show off the FPS. Read post 85 again-at the bottom of skladfins post, he states that he knows someone who owns the cybergun sig 552, and that it is almost the same quality as the TM.

Matty1020 November 10th, 2008 00:14

so everything on the JG 552 is the same on the cybergun clone, just with clear plastic?

Alphaj1 November 10th, 2008 00:16

The cybergun version is TM compatible-the JG version version already comes with the rail

Matty1020 November 10th, 2008 00:19

okay, thanks for the help guys
