m203 grenade problems
 

Hey everyone,

I have 2 M203 grenades. I havnt used them in a game yet, and they were purchased used off of here along with the launcher. Ive set them off by hand a few times for testing purposes and they work fine, and i made sure to put a little bit of gas into them for storage to keep the seals lubricated. So theyve been sitting for almost 2 months without being used. I take them outside to test them, nothing happens on either of them. I figure theyre probably out of gas and try charging them. Still nothing. Make sure my green gas can isnt empty, still no go.

I then use the same green gas can on my pistol to make sure it IS full and the gun works fine.

So im kinda lost as to what to do. Unscrewed them, and the seals are slick, no obvious cracks.

Any ideas?.

So...the gas doesn't even go in?

no, it goes in, you can hear it hissing when the valve and the can make contact. And for a split second you can hear a faint hissing sound from the nades after filling, so theres maybe a small leak somewhere, but the sound is very very faint. When you press the detonation button theres no pressure at all in the nades.

I've seen it where the gas comes out the BB holes when filling, which means the seals aren't working or the grenade isn't assembled right.

Check to make sure it isn't coming out the BB holes WHILE you're filling.

have you seated the valves properly?

ok so..

with madbull grenades after every shot u need to unscrew the bottom of the shell out a little then screw it back in. after that, u have to press in the "primer" all the way in until it clicks.

try that might work, otherwise if i dont do those things it leaks as u described.

What kind of grenade shells are they? The madbull and King Arms ones are the best. The madbull ones have seats for the ball bearings which makes greasing them much easier. Part of your problem maybe not enough grease which can make it more difficult for the valves to close. I had to grease all my grenade shells which helped them seat and hold gas. I just use propane as its easier to obtain than green gas and very cheap. Plus you can use the grease on the o-rings to in order to keep them fresh.

Ill take some pictures when i get home from work and post them, as i honestly dont know what make these nades are.

If it helps theyre gold on top and silver on the rear.

nope. all you need to do is to take a cleaning rod or a screwdriver/allen key and press the bottom in all the way until it clicks. I have never unscrewed a MadBull nade to reset it. I have used or have XM204HP's(kings), XM108HP's(cherries), XMPB4's, and M922A1's

dunno how since mine wont work unless u uncew a little then scew back up...weird

try pressing in the valve with a small philip's head screwdriver until it clicks. you'll know they are reset once the valve sits flush with the bottom on the nade. you can even press it in with your finger.

basically you are doing the same thing when you unscrew it as it allows the bearings on the valve to re-seat. BUT, unscrewing and screwing can and probably does add some unnecessary wear to the o-ring.

it only presses in once unscew/screw shit happens...im gonna check on the lubing.
