hi, guys
i have a PSG-1, second hand. thats use 10.8V battery. i got the gun with a empty 10.8V battery. i charge it with "universal smart charger". only 5 minutes the charger's green light flashing, means "charge complete". i think thats impossible. so i charge the battery a couple times with plug in and out. finally, i plug the battery in gun. but gun still cant fire and battery, stock and cable so hot!
i dont know whats wrong with it. i plug battery out.
who can explain and help me. THANK YOU SO MUCH:eek:
PS: im new guy to AEG. so plz make some words i can understand:)
Thank You Again;)

Maybe the battery is bad?

Styrak December 11th, 2008 22:54

Or the mechbox is jammed.

If you're not certain about the battery make sure your charger goes up to 10.4v ... and what they said ^

10.4V?the charger can adjustment by itself. i think so. maybe battery is bad... i think i need a gunsmith to face it :(

The charger can adjust itself up to a certain voltage only.

And if the battery only gets a few miliamps, it is normal that the cables and battery get hot.

If I remember correctly, you can only do up to 9.6v with that charger. The next step is one that charge from 10.4v to 14.4v (These chargers come in 4 version, 1-5 cells, 6 to 8, 9 to 12 and finally 24v).

Get an other battery and try it with a good, known to be good battery. Also, the PSG-1 uses a pre-cock system. It means that you will only be able to shoot it with a fully charged pack.

yes, your right. ill take a new battery to try it.
you know, the battery, stock and cables was hot as burning...

yx5001 December 11th, 2008 23:49

the charger is no problem for 10.8V battery, right?

Kos-Mos December 12th, 2008 12:26

Check on your charger. As I said, there is a few version of these "Smart Chargers"

It should be rated in cell count or voltage.

10.8v is 9 cells. If your charger can only go to 8 cells, then it won't be able to charge it.

Burning hot is between 50 and 70 degC for most people. (Hot tap water is around that). A battery can withstand up to 120-150 degC, not without damage however.
