in regards to the guns a good place to aquire guns and equipment is right here in the sites buy and sell section for that you must get age verified (IE meet up with a local verifier to prove you are over 18) from there you can aquire everythin you will need

how to get verified- http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=49408

as for radio unfortunately i cant help you there as i dont really know much about comms

yah i plan on it. i have to drive up to Toronto sometime this next week.

what about headsets?

do you use em?/ what kind do u use?

There's a ton out there. It depends on your budget and the look you're aiming for. They can be useful but I wouldn't say it's essential by any means. Get your gear and guns first. Some people also use throat mics but they don't work as well as a good headset.

It seems like a lot of people are just using regular radios and just using a headset with that.

That being said, I'm sure there are some people who are pimped out with the latest and greatest throat mic's and such.

Really all you need I say, (I really don't have too much exp with radios in Airsoft) is a radio from some outdoors shop or something (MEC carries them I believe) and make sure it has an attachment for a headset.

Rifle - you can get AV'ed and just buy from here.

yah i need to get AVed soon :(

I just bought a P99 Spring Pistol today.. to check out the airsoft guns.. its pretty fun but now i want a rifle and to play against other players.

im probably going to get something set up for next week for AV

Radio: a FRS Motorola will do you just fine to start, there cheap and sold everywhere and once you get a feel for what your needs are you can stepup to something better.

Headset: Me myself Im looking at getting this one to use with my Motorola. http://ebaybanned.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=1787

AirsoftGun: Go for something with a ver.3 mechbox in it.

Motorola Sabre II and a PTW.

Or an FRS from Canadian Tire and a Jing Gong M4.

Pick you budget and go from there.

But remember to get verified if you want the good stuff.

Also, the radio isn't hugely important. For the most part you'll be able to use any cheap FRS radios up to the more expensive UHF ones. You should be able to find headsets for any of them assuming they use some sort of standard connector.

+ pro
- con

FRS/GMRS bubble packs:
+ Easy to find
+ Relatively inexpensive
+ 2 radios in 1 pack permits sharing
- No security
- Weak range
- Mediocre clarity

UHF:
+ Much more secure
+ Very good range
+ Excellent clarity
- Somewhat less common
- Somewhat more expensive
- 1 radio as opposed to two

I currently own a pair of FRS/GMRS. Sometimes I wish I had gotten a UHF instead, but there are days in which having just a simple pair of radios is useful. It really depends what you're likely to use more often.
