Oh sweet, the finish looks awesome!

Mr Jon January 17th, 2009 00:25

Looks more like an EO 556, but the bottom picture looks like a real 557. Hard to tell, or it is it just me.

bleaches January 17th, 2009 00:32

no bendy shape outside shell (watever its called) like the real 557 and the Hurricane 556!! ahh WHYYYY~

Veteran104 January 17th, 2009 00:46

omg i'm gonna get one

Shirley January 17th, 2009 00:53

The first two pictures are 556, and the last third picture is a 557, the 557 is longer than a 556.
The bottom 557 is a real I guess. The real 556 and 557 have the 2 smaller allen key screws closer to the tighting screw, not under the up and down push buttons.

So, which one are we buying? The top ones or the bottom pic

If it's the bottom picture,I down for one.

Phil_Black January 17th, 2009 12:10

is it usable in the day light ?

I mean is the dot bright enough ? Pictures please.

Qlong January 17th, 2009 12:11

It's the price for the EOTech 557 clone, not the magnifier, so the top pic.

huang January 17th, 2009 17:47

The last picture is to demonstrate how it works with 4x magnifier.557 in the last picture is real. The first 2 pictures are clones

KND January 20th, 2009 14:21

still just wonder any news about that. I want one too

I have both the 557 and the 4x multi and they look and work great indoors. The fts mount of the 4x is nice to have if you want something fast (red dot) instead of having to peer into the sights..

However, I took it out this weekend and I could not see a single thing in the bright outdoors. Now I don't know if the batteries were an option (they were old), but it was sure disappointing...

Will try again with fresh batteries and report back..

That's the down side of these replicas. They're useless in sunlight. The reticle gets washed right out. They're fine on overcast days or if you're in the woods in the shade, but in bright sunlight, as useless as tits on a nun unfortunately. Aside from that, these are excellent sights.

Bright sunlight isn't of a problem if you do what you normally do with your interchangeable safety glasses in bright daylight) :p

(hint hint: colour dye a spare element sight protector in grey so you can switch out in the field as required. )
