I was wondering if someone could indicate how a player might be able to buy a Systema TW5 here in Canada?

If you're 18, get age-verified. You'll have access to the ASC classified and retailer sections. You'll be able to find what you're looking for.

I believe right now, at this moment, there are no retailers who have the TW5 in stock, and no private listings of any. They are not easy to come by these days.

I believe there was someone at some point in time selling Systema stuff, not sure if they're doing it at this moment (you may have to wait till next shipment).

However you could probably try to get a challenge kit (without the restricted/prohibited parts) and a Systema compatible receiver in country and you should be good to go.

I know there are G&P receivers that are built for Systemas (M4/16 ones) but I'm not sure if they make MP5 receivers.

Thank you folks for all the comments. I suspected it would be difficult to get ahold of a TW5 based on my personal research. If you hear any anything be sure to update this thread.

I suggest you go for another MP5 the systema one doesn't have enough bonuses (IMO) to make it worth the high $.

I own a TW5 Max and let me tell you some of the bonuses:
- heavyweight, doesn't feel plasticky & delicate.
- build quality is top notch even though it lacks trades.
- reliable.
- easily upgraded with optional cylinders.
- amazing trigger response.
- semi, burst & full auto.

...in the end "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" !

I do own a CA MP5A2 that is upgraded and it still feels like a "TOY"...enough said!

There is a regular importer of Systema guns in the classifieds, though once again you need to be age verified.

The cost was around 900-1100 if I recall correctly, versus 1500-2500 for the armalite models.

+1 to that, i got to hold this bad boy, and my god is it nice! i could never afford one but it sure is a good way to spend money. the burst is amazing on that thing! the weight is spot on and the ROF is really nice as well.

if you have the money, go for it!

PTW's are awesome for what they do as near perfect firearm simulators but most of that is overrated for practical airsoft games. 50% of PTW owners I talk to can't use them reliably in the rain and I prefer guns that wont burn out a $300 circuit board if I rub my feet on the carpet and touch the gun in the wrong spot (unconfirmed yes but Madmax is not the only one that warns about it.)

If you are new to airsoft, get a regular AEG to start to find out what the game is like before spending that much on a single gun. I'd say in Ottawa (the only area I can speak for) 1/3 to 1/2 of new players end up quitting within the first year and selling their stuff.

If you are looking for as close to a real MP5 as possible for simple target shooting and/or playing airsoft and/or money is not an object, then get a TW5 as no other airsoft MP5 in existence will be as close to a real MP5 as it.

Just purchased a TW5: does anyone have a pdf or technical manual for complete disassembly and parts.. The one that was sent to me did not come with one. It would be useful to see the manual before pulling pieces apart and not getting them back together.

My TW5 that I bought new didn't come with a manual. My mil/LE PTW-4 came with a CD that I never looked at and cannot find now.
I took my TW5 down to the point where I thought the cylinder should come out, but it doesn't. The rear channel for the body pin is holding me up and I'm not going any further so I don't wreck the gun.
