What to set my charger on
 

Got my new charger from airsoftparts and it had two settings 0.9a and 1.8a what is the setting I would use for a 9.6v 2300mah battery?

You can use either for that battery. You should only use the 1.8A setting for larger batteries, which you have.

So charge time for a battery is you divide the mah of the battery by the output of the charger right? Because the universal charger i bought from airsoftparts says it has an output of 20v. Does this mean it will take 115 hours to charge my 2300 mah battery?

your battery is fully charge when the lights turns green.

1.8A is 1800mA

Formula is battery capacity divided charge output = charging time

2300 / 1800 = 1.28 hours

You really make me laugh. By the way, you might keep it to low current 0.9 A, since according to my Manual the battery not over 3000 mah shouldn't charge the 1.8 A.

I realize I am asking many many questions but I am new to the sport and am still in that excited phase. I am also trying to save myself some money when I started paintball seriously I spend about $3000 in the first year and a good 1000 of it was badly spent because I made poor choices in nthe beginning. I'm trying to not make the same mistake twice.

The maximum you should charge batteries is 1C.

1C for a 3000mAh battery is 3A
1C for a 4200mAh battery is 4.2A
1C for a 600mAh battery is 0.6A
etc.
etc.

Essentially divide the mAh rating by 1000 and thats the maximum amperage you should charge the battery at.

Usually anything under 1C is fine, you can sometimes go over 1C if in a hurry but its bad for the battery. If its a LiPo charging above 1C is a good way to make it explode.
