V.I.O. POV Camera

I'm looking to acquire one of these cams, it has a lower profile compared to the Tachyon, however it has a secondary recording unit, which could be beneficial since you can tuck it in a pouch.

Resolution at 720x480

I'm just curious if anyone has used one of these.

If others are as curious as I am: http://www.vio-pov.com/index.php
Seems a nice product, but the price tag...ouch.

Achos

I use my archos 605 with helmt cam as a gun cam

It's wifi enabled and is a full multimedia stand alone unit. It's got a big ass lcd screen so you'd have to get a hard case for it. Just in case you decide to belly flop onto it.

I've got one, I use it for snowmoblie vids. wicked little unit wtih dvd quality video. The cons I found with this unit were, it cannot read memory cards larger than 2 gigs and the focus rate decreases significantly in temps below -10. I really like the wrist remote, very handy. The only thing is I don't know if I'd want to take the chance of bb's hitting the camera since these are not cheap.

A polycarbonate lens should do the trick, since the body is aluminum, it shouldn't be a problem I'm hoping.

Also when did you purchase your camera? The current versions are able to support SDHC cards up to 32GB. It seems like you need a firmware upgrade.

I noticed that on the product page, it states it includes a 4GB SDHC Card, so it should take anything up to 32GB. :D

EDIT: http://www.vio-pov.com/firmware_update/ Here's your firmware update link lexbroski

A local player of ours has one of these and it's an excellent piece of kit. Well worth the money if you are willing to spend it. it's heads above anything else on the market.
Heres some samples from a game (Watch in High quality)

The 1.0 can also take the 8GB tho...

If you're not feeling it in your wallet, you can always go for this, a native resolution at 1920 x 1080

$2400 at Vistek.. ouch

VIO POV 1 also has the the wide angle lense, makes a big difference in film footage. It also seems a lot more durable than the sony. When looking at recording devices its really not that expensive compared to others, especially since what your really paying for is the size.
