scopes question

i was wondering what the term "reflex site" means, specifically the 'reflex' part. Another word is eye relief, what does that refer to? i see terms like 'unlimited eye-relief' and have no clue what they mean.

another thing i was wondering was about scope magnification. if i am using an mp5 with a hk94 barrel extension(and appropriate inner barrel), then what type of magnification would do, without overdoing it? I have been on the forums for some time now but hardly see anything explaining scopes for begginers.

one more thing, what types of scopes are easy to use with eye protection/facemasks?

thanks

maybe a 4x magnification at the most for an mp5, actually if you go any higher its almost irrelevant because airsoft guns are so inconsistent anyways no matter the gun.

Hey "Eye Relief" is basically how close to the scope your eye has to be to see through it clearly. For example binoculars have no eye relief they have to be against your face to see through them. The more eye relief the farther away from your face the scope can be and you can still clearly see through it.
As for the magnification if find a lot of guys seem to use 3x why i don't know maybe because they are easily available. Personally I use an RDS on my MP5 and my M4 and haven't found the need for a magnifier.

ok, what about reflex site? is that just a another word for red dot site?

and scopes with a narrow diameter(the ones where your eye is against the scope), are they harder to use while earing goggles/facemasks?

Reflex sights are optical sights that reflects a reticule image onto a combining glass inside the sight which superimposes that reticule on the target. Basically any sight that projects a reticule, reddots/eotechs.

Since your questions have been answered.. I'll chime in here.

In airsoft I find for general gunning anything above 2X is too much.... On my sniper rifle I use a 1.5 - 6X scope... and I've never needed more than 6X magnification.
