Cylinder moves

I am not completely certain but the cylinder should not move in the gearbox correct? It dosn't move much only a mm or two front to back..

Thanks

have you tried reseating the cylinder head?

Is this with the box completely closed and screwed in? Are all the seams flush?

I guess it's not impossible to have a little play in it. Other than the mechbox holding it in place, it is floating between the cylinder head and piston.

Sometimes the mechbox tolerances are a bit off and this can happen. It can be solved with the creative use of teflon tape and some trial and error.

The cylinder in my AUG has a mm or less play. Doesn't affect performance.

As long as it maintains the seal with the cylinder head (which is usually more than 1mm back from the edge of the cylinder!) and the most rearward position of the piston head (which is usually more than 1mm forward of the rear of the cylinder)...you've got nothing to worry about.

Theoretically you've got a cylinder with a changing volume so your shot-to-shot consistency will be off...but not a biggie and I suspect there will be very little if any practical result.

You could try a different cylinder...or a different mechbox shell...but 99.99% probably not worth the hassel if the above isn't an issue.

have fun!
