I am new to this sport and I would like a vsr-10 clone like this one, only around $70 not $200

Sorry, you can't get ANYTHING for $70...

Hell.. I spent more than $70 just on the cocking handle of my sniper rifle..

You're going to have to greatly increase your budget, but I have a feeling you are under 18.

Airsoft in Canada is generally an 18+ sport, if you're just looking for something to target shoot with, a BB gun would be much more accurate and closer to your price range. Check out your nearest Canadian Tire, Whosale Sports, Cabelas, and look at their range of BB and Pellet guns.

here look $75 almost the same gun, I like airsoft because it is cheap; wouldn't I need a firearms licence for a bb gun if it fired over 500 fps?

Hmmmm good question. The only problem is that you have to feed and clothe your sniper (and that's not always cheap). :)

Seriously though.... not that I know of for that price. Think more along the lines of $600-700 for something that has decent performance (and $1100+ for a gun that can actually be considered a "sniper rifle").

As far as airsoft goes, think musket or shotgun when you're thinking about the accuracy/spread.

It's a much better idea to get .177 cal Pellet guns if you're just going to be plinking.

EDIT: Yes you need a PAL if you get a Pellet gun that fires over 500 FPS (most pellet guns however fire at 495 FPS and that's actually really good). I used to shoot Daisy rifles and even though they were 495 FPS I could still get sweet groupings (.75 inches was by best grouping) at 10 meters (standard ISSF distance).

Do remember that all airsoft guns are made with parts that allow it to perform at a level many countries require. Meaning that even the sniper rifle you can't afford needs more money dropped into aftermarket parts so it will perform somewhat closer to what you expect.

with the creation of newbie tanks, we have a sudden influx of noobs not reading jackshit and just going straight to asking.

yeah that's why it's called the newbie tank, if you hate newbies go somewhere else

Skladfin: +1

I only realized what the vets were saying about the community going into the shitter yesterday. Especially with that kid who was talking out of his ass about Bio BB's and got banned.

Remember, you and I are not required to wade through the newbie tank. I still feel a need to help out newbies who read and ask legitimate questions and actually listen to people who know what they're talking about and have years of experience (can't think of any off the top of my head though). Although those threads are few and far between and I still have to wade through a lot of crap before I can find a thread where a newbie actually needs help (and not just where to buy guns or whatever).

EDIT: No Username, don't talk shit to Skladfin, he can be a great resource if you ask the right questions (about technical aspects and stuff) and in the right way (with proper punctuation and grammar). Also there is a difference between noobs and newbies one actually listens and takes advice the other just wants someone to reinforce their wrong notions.

so, a cheap airsoft sniper rifle would not have a great hop up or barrel. how much would a reasonable airsoft sniper rifle cost?

No YOU go somewhere else, you cannot import airsoft into Canada so the prices on the us or Asian websites is not what you will be paying

the only way to get a sniper rifle is to get age verified and buy one here, but your maturity level suggests that you are not of ag so that might not be an option, if not then do not try to get any airosft until you are
