WE Scar (tan)

im just wondering is the color of the tan metal upper noticeably different from the tan ABS lower? Im having a hard time deciding what one to get for a realism style desert kit. From pictures it looks almost brown compared to the nice tan lowers...

reel steal SCARs have different colors as well, the upper is metal and the lower is not, that's why there is a color difference, the airsoft versions are the same. as far as i know, the VFC scar is the best looking airsoft scar....

that being said, GBBR scar = sex!

but are the pictures blowing it out of proportion, because i want to know what one to buy... i mean i can probably make a all black scar work with a desert kit, but id prefer a tan.

Yes its noticeable, but no more then it is on the real steel.

Looks great, actually; probably one of the more realistic SCAR airsofts I've seen.

the color changes depending on the light and the angle you're looking at it from - see my photos below: same room, same camera settings, same everything except for where I shot them from, and you can see the color of the metal upper is different in the two shots.

I am confident that my white balance was pretty spot-on, and the colors look exactly as I saw them in person when the shots were taken.

I much prefer the color in the first pic but unfortunately you will see the color difference in real life, under different lighting conditions / viewing angle.

Does anyone know if the real SCAR's upper is like this too?

the upper is a gold ish bronze, looks fucking sexy, its a metallic finish

that comes down to personal choice, if this is your first gun get an AEG, there are many different brands of scars and as far as i am concerned the looks on all of them are good. VFCs are the best (my personal opinion) but at the end of the day, looks only count for so much.

if you have a gun aready and you have alot of $$$ to spend get the GBBR cuz they are super sexy!

but should i do a black one or a tan one? Im planning to run all multicam and a EGL so... im guessing you guys will say tan but i really gotta see the discoloration in person haha...

its not my first gun haha, i just haven't been here for long. i currently have went through about 6 AEG's and really wanted to make the move to GBBR because i love realism, and i just happen to love the SCAR haha.

the tan one looks better than the black in every way, and black does NOT blend into forests well.. or anything, for that matter

theshaneler October 18th, 2009 22:26

tan WE SCAR = pure win

i would give my left nut for one... but not the right... that one is for keepen' :p

Bonjour43ma October 18th, 2009 22:27

in fact, the mag itself is of a different shade of tan than the lower... so under certain lighting condition, this gun can have 4 different colors (mag, lower+stock, upper, rails+accessories)

I am confident that my 2nd photo shows the discoloration rather clearly... you can see the mag, the lower, the upper, are 3 different shades of tan/brown.

WE's product shots on their website are quite underexposed... they look way too dark and do not show the actual colors properly.
