What battery for my Mods?
hello!
i got a JG Mp5 Navy ras, i upgraded the gearbox, i put in a Guarder 120 spring, Metal bushings, aluminum piston head with ball bearing, spring guide with ball bearing, brass cylinder head, G&P poly piston with 4 metal teeth, what would a good battery be for it? i was thinking lipos, a 7.4 or 11.1? what c rating? i already mounted the gun so the mosfet is really out of the question i will not disassemble the replica again is a PITA for the mp5! thanks! |
im using a 7.4V 25C 1550mAh lipo with my guarder m120. the ROF is just as i like it.
i did use a 11.1V 20C 1250mAh lipo before but the ROF was too high imo. |
It's a ver. 2 mechbox. a 120 spring WILL eventually kill it. An 11.1 lipo will just kill it faster.

i have an M16 with a 130 spring for sniping, 5k+ rounds thru it without any issues...
and i play on semi always i rarely use full! Quote:

I use a 2200mah 20C 7.4v lipo. I don't want to use an 11.1v lipo but that's basically because I am paranoid about V2 gearbox cracking.

I've done builds using Tokyo Marui V2 Mechbox shells with internals that are firing near 390 FPS.. and they've been going strong for almost 2 years now with regular use. |

Im getting tired of hearing all the misinformation about how V2s just fail so much. |
I'm curious, what FPS was your gun before your mods? Because I have the same JG Mp5 Navy RAS and out of the box it shot 460 FPS!
It's cooled to around 415 now after a year of play but it's still stock. |
hm well, i really dunno, cuz as soon as i got it i did all the upgrades! just last night i assemble it ! and the 8.4 battery really does struggle!

And it all depends on what kind of ROF you are looking at. As far as "how much can my gun physically take for a long period of time"... I'd say a 11v lower-C pack would be ok. Try one out, and if your gun really seems like it's straining, then try something with less power. Personally i have run CA m4 with a g&P m160 motor (similar to the systema magnum) with a 12v elite with deans battery and nothing else.....and its works perfectly fine. So you would probably be fine. |
