Kjw m9 - tm m9

Do the TM M9 and the KJW M9 have interchangeable parts?

Im doing a couple minor upgrads to my KJW M9 pistol.

I find it much easier to run across TM M9 labelled parts rather than KJW specific parts.

Hope someone out there knows.

Thanks ^_^

The steel mag catch made by guarder for the TM M9 does not appropriately fit the KJ M9 and will require some modification to fit properly. At this point in time I have not had any issues with guarder recoil springs, or King Arms internal spring replacement kits as far as compatibility goes.

The recoil spring and spring kit were two products I were interested in purchasing.

Thank you, this is great to know.

I was also looking at getting a precision barrel.

Once again there are nothing but barrels deemed compatible with the TM M9.

How much modification was neccessary for the steel mag catch to fit properly in the KJ?

What benefit does adding the steel mag catch add?

Don't know what mods are needed but the original KJ mag catch is made of plastic (at least it is in mine). Over time, the catch will wear down and eventually fail. Should that happen, you can, as a temporary fix, turn the mag catch around and put the button on the right side of the gun.
The steel mag catch will eliminate this problem, however I wonder if it'll increase the wear on the mag itself.

Yeah, I know on my Mp5, the metal mag catch wore down the metal on the mags eventually and they started to slip out. I think the plastic catch is actually better long-term for the mags.

Still, I am in the process of buying parts for my M9 so I was curious about this part.

Yea, that's precisely what kept me from getting that part. However, I have yet to source a plastic one to replace the original one when it does eventually give out. I suppose I'd have to contact KJW for the part.
