Guarder FTK for Dboys M4A1
Hello all,
im planning an upgrade for my M4, just bought a prometheus 6.03 inner barrel and a Prometheus NEO Metal Strike Chamber. Now i would like to increase the gearbox durability and maybe gain extra power. So digging around i have found this FTK from Guarder. Is it worth? I was wondering if i can replace the guarder spring for a PDI one. I have to buy anything else with this FTK? |
I say run it till it breaks. No sense in spending money on upgrades you don't need.

i was under the impression that guarder gears are sub-par (someone correct me if im wrong). If you want to upgrade but are on a budget, get modify. Have Airsoft Parts Canada order a complete set in for you. If you have cash to burn, get a Prometheus set.

Well, IMO the $ diff between a systema complete and a modify FTK or prommy FTK really isn't all that much.
It would be a huge upgrade from DBoys internals anyways. I only recommend this since you are already spending so much money on it. |
Guarder gears are kinda junky. Go with a higher quality brand:
Modify Systema Prometheus G&P You can't really go wrong with any of the above. But why do you need to upgrade it? If you install this stuff yourself your gun won't become a magical laser or super reliable or durable. The installer, and the process can make or break a FTK. If you want more velocity get a stiffer spring. Otherwise run your gun until it breaks and save yourself the money. If you don't open your box it will probably go 2 seasons without needing anything repaired. |
with this upgrade i intend to increase my AEG durability and get a stronger spring (380~420 fps). I think a stronger spring with stock gearbox parts would break someting.
Prometheus has a FTK or i have to buy the parts separately? |

having been an excessive upgrader and tinkerer i've realized that in a large number of cases upgrades are the root of malfunctions in a gun. |
