My Spring Is Not Fully Compressed
 

I pluged my battery in my gun, I shot it and it did not go though its full cycle. So, the piston is all the way back, and I won't be able to get a fully charged battery for 7 hours. Will my spring be much weaker or will there be too much stress and parts would break? Please give some input.

i wouldnt worry about it. If its only for a few hours there isnt any risk of damage. Hell, you could store it like that for a few days too. Its not recommended that you store it like that for months at a time, but springs are pretty good at retaining their strength.

You can allways charge the batt for an hour then fire in semi to reset the spring. Another way (depending on AEG) is to remove moter and grip. Pull firmly on the antireversal latch and the gearbox will spin in reverse. Be very carefull not to damage the small reverse spring on the latch.

Its always a good idea to fire you gun in semi after using full auto before storage. Sometimes in full auto the piston can stop at a compressed position. Fire in semi allows the gears and piston to go back to the uncompressed position.

7 hours? Don't tell me your using a shitty wall charger?

Either a wall charger or he has turned down the amperage of his adjustable digital peak charger to .05 amps.

A little off topic but what about loading bbs in standard mags or winding hi caps before a game I usually load them before a game about 5 hours loaded

thats fine IMHO. just dont do it day(s) in advance.

Just a side note:

A couple of months ago a team mate found a TM M14 mag in a swamp...

From the previous year.

Hit the bb eject lever and, worked, 50 bb's came flying out. Loaded up fresh bb's, mag fired fine. Props to TM.

hah, Wish i could say the same for my stupid MAG brand midcaps.

Played with them in a really dusty/dirty setting. Got home and forgot to unload them untill the next morning.

like the 8 I still had loaded were shot...

Bleh, I'm trying to only buy high end mags now, too bad TM mags are like $30 a pop.

I had an AEG spring fully compressed for 3 months, and it didn't even lose 3fps

Mag brand mid caps i hope there decient i bought 8 recently as long as they don't lose springyness wile holding bb's for 3-4 hours. Aeg spring compression might be less stressful on the gun later on...

A lot of people use them and like them. I let them sit full of BBs and muck for like 15 hours...

Its my fault, but it still sucks :P

i got the king arms metal mid caps and ive droped them in water/ paint, dust, mud and they work just fine. guess i got lucky

I heard that most AEG propulsion springs are made out of piano wire. That stuff holds it shape, and its strong.
